This tour takes you along stunning coastal cliffs, through ancient rainforests, and into the heart of the Australian bush, offering incredible scenery, rich Aboriginal heritage, and abundant wildlife.
The adventure begins with a scenic drive along the Great Ocean Road, one of Australia’s most iconic coastal routes. The first stop is the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie, where you can enjoy handcrafted sweet treats before continuing the journey. Passing through lush rainforest in Great Otway National Park, you’ll walk among some of the world’s tallest trees while keeping an eye out for native wildlife, including koalas and vibrant bird species.
Exploring the Shipwreck Coast, you’ll visit the secluded beach at Loch Ard Gorge, where the tragic tale of the Loch Ard shipwreck comes to life. A highlight of the day is witnessing the dramatic limestone formations of the Twelve Apostles, standing tall against the Southern Ocean’s powerful waves. The day concludes with a relaxing evening at either Gariwerd Motel or Grampians Eco YHA, with dinner at The Flying Horse Bar & Brewery before settling in for the night.
Waking up in the Grampians, you’ll be greeted by fresh mountain air and sweeping views of the park’s rugged landscapes. The morning begins with visits to Boroka Lookout and Reeds Lookout, also known as The Balconies, where panoramic views stretch across the valleys and cliffs of this ancient region. As you explore deeper into the park, expect to encounter wild kangaroos, emus, and native birdlife, all thriving in their natural habitat. The Grampians are also home to majestic waterfalls and scenic bushwalking trails, offering the perfect opportunity to connect with nature and experience the serenity of this untouched wilderness.
After two days of exploring Victoria’s coastline and mountains, the journey concludes with a return to Melbourne in the late afternoon. This tour provides a perfect balance of coastal beauty, rainforest adventures, and mountain landscapes, making it an ideal experience for nature lovers and adventure seekers looking to discover the diverse wonders of southern Australia.
