McLaren Vale 1/2 Day Wine Tasting & Coastal Tour

Tour Summary

Join us for a delightful half-day adventure that combines the best of McLaren Vale’s world-class wines and the stunning Adelaide coastline. Departing at 12:30 PM from Bus Stop T1 in front of the Hilton Hotel on Victoria Square, our stylish 20-seat coaster offers a comfortable ride as we take a scenic journey through the beautiful Adelaide Hills, heading to the renowned McLaren Vale wine region.

Our first stop is the breath-taking Chapel Hill Winery, where you’ll be treated to a structured wine tasting experience in their picturesque cellar door. Sip on exquisite wines while soaking in the stunning vineyard views. Be sure to have your camera ready to capture the beauty of this iconic winery.

Next, we head to the charming Haselgrove Winery for another relaxed and enjoyable wine tasting. Here, you’ll taste some of their finest wines, and if you’re feeling peckish, you can indulge in a cheeseboard to complement your wine experience.

After the wineries, we hop back on the bus for a scenic drive along the Adelaide coastline, offering beautiful views as we head towards Glenelg, one of Adelaide’s most popular seaside suburbs. Once in Glenelg, you have two fantastic options:

  • Option 1: Take a 15-minute stroll to explore Glenelg’s shops, restaurants, and beach before hopping back on the bus for a return trip to Adelaide.
  • Option 2: Choose to stay in Glenelg for a few leisurely hours, enjoying the lively atmosphere, dining at one of the many excellent restaurants, and watching one of the world’s most spectacular sunsets. Trams run every 20 minutes from Glenelg to Adelaide, making it easy to return at your convenience.

Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or looking for a relaxing afternoon by the beach, this tour offers the perfect combination of top-tier wines and stunning coastal views. Book your spot on the McLaren Vale Wine Tour and Glenelg Seaside Escape today and experience the best of both worlds.

Things to Consider:

-Relax in hilltop views and taste some award-winning wines overlooking McLaren Vale.

-We highly recommend trying their ‘Aussie blend’ of Small Batch Cabernet Shiraz!

-Don’t miss the intricate details of the chapel’s iconic stained windows.

-Enjoy the views on their rooftop cellar door with one of their award-winning reds (First Cut Shiraz 2020 perhaps).

-We recommend purchasing a cheeseboard as well to complement your drink of choice.

Visitors have two options

Option 1: Take a 15min stroll in the suburb of Glenelg then head your way back to Adelaide via tour bus.

Option 2: End your trip in the suburb of Glenelg and spend a few hours in Glenelg. Head your way back to Adelaide via the light rail.

-We highly recommend choosing the latter as Glenelg is known for it’s stunning beaches and beautiful sunsets.

-Check out some of the unique cafes and bars in the area! We can provide a list of unique food spots upon request.

Just a Great Tour!
This tour exceeded our expectations! The wineries chosen were wonderful, the scenery of McLaren Vale is gorgeous and our guide was very informative, pleasant and helpful. We saw so much more than we thought we would, since we headed over to the coast to view the lovely beaches and the Brighton area with its beautiful waterfront homes.

A well organised enjoyable tour, ideal, for those who don't want an early start .
Although billed as a half day tour, it was six hours and good value for money. Craig our driver/guide was very knowledgeable, the scenery was lovely and the wine tasting informative with generous helpings. Sales were not pushed. Craig got us to Glenelg in perfect time for the sunset.

Fantastic tour - not just wineries
This was a terrific experience on a Sunday in Adelaide. I really enjoyed the fact that you got multiple different experiences during the course of the day. You started with a good overview tour of Adelaide hitting some of the highlights of the city. Then it’s on to Mt Lofty before heading to Hansdorf, a German town about 30 minutes outside the city. Lots of unique restaurants and shops there so the 2 hours you have to visit goes quickly. The afternoon includes a visit to 2 different wineries with tastings. And you finish up the day by stopping at the seaside town near Adelaide (with the option of getting off and taking the tram back to the city). Overall, I couldn’t have hoped for a better experience! Craig was an awesome guide and I would highly recommend this tour if you’re coming to Adelaide and want to experience wineries but also something more.
