Majestic Blue Mountains Sunset Adventure: Explore, Hike, and Capture Stunning Views

Tour Summary

Escape the hustle of Sydney and embark on a breath-taking journey into the heart of the Blue Mountains, one of Australia’s most stunning World Heritage-Listed National Parks. Designed with serenity and flexibility in mind, this Blue Mountains Sunset Tour offers a truly magical experience that sidesteps the crowds and captures nature at its most enchanting—bathed in the golden glow of late afternoon and sunset.

Your day begins with a late-morning departure from Sydney, giving you extra time to enjoy the city before venturing into the wild. Travel in comfort to the Blue Mountains, just 50 kilometres from the CBD, and be transported to a land of towering sandstone cliffs, eucalyptus forests, and valleys shrouded in a mystical blue haze.

The first stop is a charming visit to Glenbrook or Leura, quaint mountain towns brimming with history, local boutiques, and cosy cafes. Take a moment to relax, grab a refreshment, and soak in the welcoming atmosphere of these gateway villages.

From there, the adventure deepens with a scenic bushwalk and wildlife encounter. As dusk approaches—prime time for native fauna—keep your eyes peeled for kangaroos in the wild, a rare and delightful sight for nature lovers.

Next, journey into the heart of the Jamison Valley, where you’ll marvel at panoramic canyon views and iconic landmarks like the Three Sisters rock formation. Follow a bush trail leading to one of New South Wales’ most awe-inspiring natural wonders: Wentworth Falls. A 90-minute nature walk takes you through lush rainforest and down into the valley, where the cascading waterfall creates a peaceful, soul-stirring experience.

As the sun begins to set, the tour culminates at Echo Point or Lincoln’s Rock, offering unmatched views of the vast Blue Mountains landscape. Watch in awe as the sky transforms and shadows dance across the valleys, creating a scene so majestic it feels almost otherworldly.

The return to Sydney is timed to avoid traffic and includes a short rest stop, ensuring a comfortable end to an unforgettable day.

Perfect for photographers, nature lovers, and those seeking tranquillity, this Blue Mountains sunset tour promises majestic views, authentic wildlife encounters, and a deep connection with Australia’s natural beauty—all without the crowds.

Things to Consider:

Blue Mountains Sunset Tour - Sep 2024
The weather was a bit dodgy but other than that, really hard to fault, and that's beyond anyone's control. The transport was clean, punctual and comfortable. Derek and Andrew were fun, knowledgeable and have a genuine appreciation for the environment they're in which really adds to the experience - you can tell they enjoy what they do. Thanks both

We did the Blue Mountains Tour and absolutely loved it!
There' so much packed in one day! Our tour guide gave tips and tricks in and around Sydney whilst driving us to the Blue Mountains; restaurants/bars/other nice places to visit in the surrounding area, info about the country, you name it. If you're new to Australia/Sydney; then all this info will give you a headstart! Our bus was very comfortable and even had outlets to charge phones via USB (comes in handy for all thoses photo's you want to take). The spots you're taken to are beautiful, we would definitely recommend doing the sunset tour! The tourbus picks up/drops off at several locations in the city center, which are all easy to get to via public transportation. If -like us- you have a rental car: we parked our car just outside of sydney city center at a Park & Ride and hoped on the train to Central Station which was right next to our pick up point. Thanks Autopia!

I have used Autopia Tours three times to see the Great Ocean Road, Blue Mountains and Uluru and they are a brilliant company!
Every guide was charismatic and full of knowledge, the tours ran smoothly and I learnt a lot more about the places I visited than I would of learnt if I did it on my own.
